Joanne Hardwick will be joining Piper Alderman as a partner in its Insolvency & Reconstruction team in Melbourne from Tuesday, 3 April 2018.

Joanne boasts both Australian and international experience having practiced at a boutique firm in London and at national firms in Melbourne for the last 15 years.

Commenting on her decision to join Piper Alderman, Joanne said:

“Piper Alderman has been on my radar for the last 12 months. The firm’s recent merger with Norton Gledhill has boosted its corporate credentials in Melbourne making it an attractive option. The firm’s full service offering in Melbourne will provide me with the opportunity to grow my practice and to service my client’s various legal needs.  I’m excited to be joining the firm and being part of a leading Victorian and national insolvency and reconstruction law team.  My clients and referrers are extremely supportive of the move and will benefit from the depth of expertise and resources which Piper Alderman provides”.

Joanne joins leading insolvency and reconstruction law partner Michael Lhuede in the Melbourne office and he said on her appointment:

“Joanne is a highly respected and skilled practitioner within the Melbourne insolvency industry.  Her practice is very much aligned with our existing offering and the skills; experience and relationships she has will help us continue to build upon the foundations of our existing practice and deepen our relationships with our key clients in line with our strategic goals.  It is very pleasing to know that Joanne’s referrers have already endorsed her decision to join Piper Alderman.”

Managing Partner, Tony Britten-Jones, said he was delighted to welcome a practitioner of Joanne’s calibre and market reputation to the team.

“Our Melbourne team continues to go from strength to strength.  After the merger with Norton Gledhill in November 2017, we have been working hard to drive growth across all our offices.  Insolvency & Reconstruction law has been a strategic focus of Piper Alderman for some time and Joanne’s appointment will further enhance our offering in this regard.”

Joanne is a member of the Australian Restructuring & Insolvency Turnaround Association, the Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation, Australian Institute of Company Directors and Victorian Women Lawyers.
