Webinar: Personal Insolvency Forum | Session 1
PIF/ROCIT: Piper Alderman coordinates and hosts the Personal Insolvency Forum (PIF) in Adelaide. In addition, Piper Alderman, in conjunction with the Adelaide Law School, Regulation of Corporations, Insolvency and Taxation (ROCIT) host an annual full-day personal insolvency seminar (Seminar). Unfortunately, given the present circumstances, it is not possible to host the Seminar scheduled for the 31 July 2020.
There have been a number of enquiries following up on the Seminar. As a consequence, we have decided to offer monthly online webinars from July until the end of the year as a substitute for the Seminar. This will enable you to earn the CPD/CLE points that you would have earned had you attended the Seminar. In maintaining the high standards of the previous Seminars, we have invited leading academics and barristers to present at the webinars on matters relevant to bankruptcy and personal insolvency. Accordingly, the webinars will focus on personal insolvency matters and will be of interest to Trustees and their staff.
The Seminars have attracted attendees nationally and the webinars will be presented using Microsoft teams and be available nationally.
The proceeds from the previous seminars were donated to ROCIT to promote legal research. There will be no costs in respect of these seminars and you are welcome to make a donation to ROCIT directly.
In this session, Prof. Chris Symes, The University of Adelaide – Regulation of Corporate Insolvency and Tax (ROCIT) will present on “Equity – the Trustee’s friend when it comes to undervalued transactions… and other sections of the Bankruptcy Act 1966 (Cth)(Act)“.
