Tim assists clients in intellectual property protection and portfolio management including filing trade mark applications, oppositions and removal proceedings and manages both the litigious and commercial aspects of intellectual property protection.

Tim enjoys helping organisations formulate intellectual property related business strategies, as well as planning and implementing strategies and tactics through special projects. He develops a good rapport with client’s key people, helping them understand the implications of intellectual property issues and assisting them in initiating and developing best practice models for intellectual property management.

Tim addresses clients and interest groups on the issues involved in the management and protection of knowledge, ideas and other intellectual property assets.

Tim developed BrandProtect®, Piper Alderman’s unique assessment, monitoring and protection service for trade marks and brand names.

Tim is Head of our Adelaide Office and Deputy Managing Partner.

Laura is an associate in the Intellectual Property & Technology team.

She has experience in a variety of areas, with a particular focus on commercial and licensing advice for defence industry technology.

During her career Laura has provided commercial and licensing advice to defence industry leaders, with a focus on international trade licensing requirements and obligations to both national and international governments. Laura has worked with Australian, United States, European, UK and French defence technology export/import legislation and regulations and the Australian Standard for Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) suite of tendering and contracting templates.

Laura advises a range of organisations on intellectual property matters, including strategy, registration, licensing, assignment and commercialisation.
