Travis Shueard, an Intellectual Property & Technology lawyer, will discuss the role of intellectual property in the context of bankruptcy and its consequences. As intangible property, whether in the form of trade marks, patents, copyright, etc., intellectual property is often forgotten in bankruptcy administrations. IP is a valuable asset which Trustees should not overlook. However, as with all things of value, there are always complications. Travis will review recent Court decisions and the impact of bankruptcy on intellectual property rights and consider the options available to Trustees.
The presentation will be in person in Adelaide and online/virtual for our interstate colleagues (who are most welcome to join us in Adelaide for the presentation and drinks and nibbles).
The content of the session is aimed at bankruptcy / personal insolvency practitioners as well as trustees and their staff.
