CPD points: 1 Substantive Point
On 16 February 2023, the Attorney-General launched his Department’s Report on its review of Australia’s key privacy legislation, the Privacy Act, including proposals for 116 changes. The overarching theme of the proposals is to increase the protections for personal information collected about individuals. The final form in which the proposals will be implemented, and whether they will be implemented, is yet to be seen. Feedback is currently being sought until 31 March 2023 by the Attorney-General on the proposals to help inform the government response.
In this webinar, we summarise the key proposals that have been put on the table by the Report and will explain the next steps in Australia’s road to privacy reform.
The workshop is open to all organisations, excluding other legal service providers.
