Hamish is a member of Piper Alderman’s Projects, Infrastructure and Construction team in Sydney. He advises principals, contractors, developers, consultants, and private and corporate clients – including those in the energy and technology sectors – across the full lifecycle of construction and infrastructure projects. His practice encompasses both front-end advisory work and complex dispute resolution.
Hamish regularly acts on high-value, technically complex matters and has appeared before the Federal Court of Australia and various State courts. He is known for delivering commercially astute, outcome-focused advice that enables clients to manage risk and navigate challenging project environments. His ability to move seamlessly between advisory and contentious matters allows him to provide strategic, end-to-end support.
Prior to joining Piper Alderman, Hamish practised at a specialist construction law firm, where he developed deep expertise across a broad range of advisory and contentious matters, including matters that have become leading authorities in the field.
Hamish is recognised by his peers and was named a Construction Law Rising Star – South Australia in Doyle’s Guide in 2022 and 2023.
