Luke graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce. He was admitted to practice in Western Australia and the Commonwealth Courts in October 2014, joining Piper Alderman as a Special Counsel in 2024.
He advises on a broad range of commercial and corporate disputes, regularly acting for directors, companies, insolvency practitioners and high-net-worth individuals, with a particular focus on assisting local businesspeople and regional clients to navigate issues.
His recent litigious and advisory experience includes:
- Acting for companies in claims involving allegations of breaches of contract and breaches of the Australian Consumer Law.
- Acting for directors and shareholders in disputes with other shareholders.
- Acting for lenders to recover debts and enforce securities.
- Acting for insolvency practitioners, directors, creditors and shareholders in relation to issues and disputes arising during External Administrations.
- Acting for former directors of a company in relation to a complex breach of fiduciary duties and directors’ duties claim.
- Acting for a borrower and guarantor to resist enforcement attempts by a lender on the basis that the security documents were voidable and or unenforceable, including due to misleading or deceptive conduct and by reason of estoppel.
- Acting for a director and the director’s related entities in the buy-out of another party’s interests in the business.
- Acting for a company in a substantial commercial refinance, including in negotiations concerning, and advising in respect of, the terms of transaction documents.
