Tabitha Mackenzie is a Senior Associate in Piper Alderman’s Financial Services team, based in Adelaide.
She advises on lending recoveries, with a focus on mortgage enforcement and supporting clients in managing regulatory obligations relating to hardship and vulnerable customers in accordance with relevant legislation.
Tabitha works closely with mutual banks on all aspects of lending recovery, including issuing default notices, managing hardship and postponement arrangements, providing advice in relation the enforcement of loans and securities and the resolution of disputes with customers including complaints lodged with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority and facilitating enforcement proceedings through to mortgagee sale settlements.
Her background includes experience in commercial litigation and debt recovery, as well as earlier roles in criminal defence. This experience supports her ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and manage sensitive situations involving financial stress and vulnerability.
