With close to 20 years of experience advising corporate, government and non-profit clients, Tim focuses on the planning, approval and delivery of major infrastructure, resources and property development projects. He advises on regulatory approvals, stakeholder management and project risk, with a particular emphasis on environmental and Aboriginal heritage regulation across Australia.

Tim has deep expertise in environmental and climate change law, including impact assessment, licensing, emissions and waste regulation, and GHG reporting obligations. He has advised on major transport, oil and gas, telecommunications and agribusiness projects, supporting clients with regulatory strategy, compliance management and stakeholder engagement. He regularly assists with incident response, internal investigations and enforcement actions, and has represented clients in appeals and judicial review proceedings.

Tim brings a diverse background to his practice, having held senior legal and policy roles in government regulatory departments and at a national law firm. This included advising on environmental compliance, enforcement, and approvals; acting in planning disputes and environmental appeals; and managing environmental due diligence for major transactions. He has appeared in matters before the Supreme Court, SAT and other tribunals, and has advised government, industry and Traditional Owners on Aboriginal heritage protection and compliance.

Tim’s cross-sector experience gives him valuable insight into regulatory decision-making and social licence considerations, enhancing his ability to guide clients through complex project environments.
