Piper Alderman appoints new special counsel to insolvency and reconstruction team

Louise Thompson joins Piper Alderman from 1 April 2019 as a special counsel in its Insolvency and Reconstruction team in Melbourne.

Louise has over 15 years’ experience, acting for a wide range of insolvency practitioners.  Her extensive experience ranges from advising and acting for insolvency practitioners and for directors, debtors and creditors in a wide range of corporate and personal insolvency matters.  Louise’s experience includes conducting high profile insolvency litigation, conducting examinations and pursuing insolvent trading claims and voidable transaction recoveries.

Louise has also practiced extensively in general commercial litigation and debt recovery including in defending professional indemnity claims against legal practitioners, providing advice on indemnity and liability issues as well as the general conduct of litigation relating to claims.

Louise is admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria, the High Court and Federal Courts of Australia and the High Court of New Zealand.

Louise joins leading insolvency and reconstruction partners in Melbourne, Michael Lhuede and Joanne Hardwick.
