Significant changes to Australia’s privacy framework are approaching. From 10 December 2026, new disclosure requirements will apply to organisations that use personal information in Automated Decision Making (ADM). Beyond ADM, further changes are proposed under the Tranche 2 privacy reforms, which are expected to significantly reshape existing privacy compliance obligations.

This practical webinar will help organisations understand what these developments could mean for their privacy compliance frameworks and how they can prepare.

The session will cover:

  • the scope of the new ADM requirements and when they apply
  • key guidance from the privacy regulator on the operation of the ADM regime
  • the additional disclosures organisations will need to make in their privacy policies
  • the major changes proposed under the Tranche 2 reforms, including the “fair and reasonable” test, strengthened data breach notification requirements, right of erasure applying to large digital platforms and a new “data processor” concept
  • practical actions organisations can take now to prepare

Who should attend?

In-house counsel, executives and privacy, risk, compliance, and technology professionals responsible for navigating privacy obligations and managing data-related risk.
