The Respect@Work laws have been passed by the Federal Parliament at a time when the prevailing attitudes in the Australian community are that misconduct of this nature should not be tolerated. We have seen increased financial liability for sexual harassment (and related misconduct).

Society more generally and the Courts have expressed frustration with workplace incidents that are poorly managed and result in sexual harassment, sex discrimination, sex-based harassment occurring in the workplace, which often has significantly detrimental impacts on the lives of those involved.

Our team covered:

  • The new features of the enhanced and expanded laws (and their impact)
  • What should be done to get your organisation ready
  • An understanding of how to build a culture where your business and employees are protected against sexual harassment, sex based discrimination and harassment
  • How to swiftly and appropriately deal with this behaviour if it ever arises and protect against claims

This session will be relevant for in-house counsel roles, human resources managers and anyone involved in workplace management.
