Jamin has over 5 years’ experience as a commercial lawyer, bringing the added expertise of a Bachelor of Commerce degree to his practice. Clients appreciate the commercial acumen he brings to the matters in his broad practice which spans a range of industries and sectors and areas of law including intellectual property (IP) and technology, competition and consumer law, privacy and data protection, life sciences and franchising law. His clients include start-ups, large private companies, listed companies, multi-national companies, clinical research organisations, universities, research institutions, government agencies and educational organisations.
With significant experience in IP and technology, Jamin advises in relation to both Australian and overseas IP prosecution, protection, management and commercialisation. He regularly advises on contentious and non-contentious IP matters, including strategy, registration, licensing, assignment, commercialisation and other transactions and enforcement of IP rights. He has significant experience in IT contracts including software licensing, software support, software-as-a service, master service agreements and IT services agreements.
Jamin also has broad experience advising in relation to competition and consumer law. He regularly advises clients in relation to dealings with the ACCC, including ACCC merger clearance for domestic and international acquisitions, preparation and lodgement of notification and authorisations with the ACCC as well as advising clients as part of responding to ACCC investigations and enquiries. He advises clients in relation to consumer protection and regulatory issues, covering misleading and deceptive conduct, unfair contract terms, consumer guarantees and general compliance.
Jamin also has particular expertise in the life science and healthcare sector, advising on a range of commercial and regulatory matters. This includes advising in relation to therapeutic goods regulation as well as distribution, manufacturing and supply of therapeutic goods. Jamin regularly advises pharmaceutical companies, clinical and medical research organisations and biotechnology clients across all areas of law.
Privacy and data protection is a constantly evolving area, and Jamin also assists public and private sector clients in relation regulatory obligations relating to health and personal information, at a State and Territory level, Federal level and internationally.
