Christian Febbraro joined Piper Alderman in September 2024 with Partner Megan Bishop and brings over five years of experience specialising in tax litigation and regulatory matters.
Christian’s areas of specialisation include research and development taxes, employment taxes, trust tax issues, corporate and individual mobility-related tax matters, transfer pricing, anti-avoidance, State taxes, tax debt management, and advising registered tax agents on their regulatory obligations.
A Chartered Accountant, Christian holds degrees in Law and Commerce (Accounting) and completed his Master of Laws (Taxation) in 2023. His background includes roles at Deloitte Australia, the Australian Taxation Office, the Tax Practitioners Board and, most recently, Holding Redlich. He has acted for government agencies, regulators and private clients in complex tax disputes, including matters before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the Federal Court of Australia, and has represented a government department in a major Royal Commission.
Admitted in both the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia, Christian’s experience includes managing tax litigation teams, advising on high-profile Freedom of Information requests, and preparing complex submissions for regulators. Recognised for his technical expertise, strong commercial acumen and collaborative approach, he is also a dedicated mentor to junior lawyers and an active contributor to tax discussion groups and seminars.
