Cris Cureton has over three decades’ experience advising governments, utilities and major contractors on major LNG, mining, power, rail and hospital projects and related disputes across Australia.
He has participated in national status projects including the Alice Springs to Darwin Railway, the Bonaparte Gas Pipeline, Sydney Metro West, and Defence base and materiel procurement projects.
Cris has conducted a number of significant building defect cases. Given his depth of industry knowledge and policy understanding the Northern Territory government commissioned Cris to undertake an independent review and public report on building industry regulation in the Northern Territory.
Cris leads an active disputes and arbitration team in Sydney with approximately AU$1 billion of disputes under management. Cris led the successful obtaining of an injunction preventing what is understood to be the largest security bond call made in Australia.
Cris has also been annually named one of Australia’s leading litigation lawyers by Best Lawyers from 2010 to 2020.
