Piper Alderman welcomes leading corporate partner in Melbourne

Marcus Best joins national law firm, Piper Alderman, as a corporate partner in Melbourne.

Marcus has over 30 years’ experience in corporate and equity capital markets matters, advising many Australian and international clients in IPOs, ASX listings and capital raisings, takeovers, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and project exploration & development.

Advising both Australian and international entities, his experience spans a range of industries such as mining, agribusiness, infrastructure and private equity.

During his career, Marcus has advised and acted in high-value international transactions including the recent strategic acquisition by China’s Huayou Cobalt Co. of the Arcadia Lithium Mine Project from ASX-listed Prospect Resources; the China Nuclear Power Corporation takeover acquisition of Extract Resources’ $2 billion Husab Uranium Project and the $2 billion takeover acquisition of Australian Gas Networks (formerly Envestra).
