Millie Byrnes Howe is a Senior Associate in Piper Alderman’s dispute resolution and litigation team. Millie has extensive in complex commercial disputes, competition and consumer law and class actions. She has acted for claimants and defendants across diverse industries in the District Court of New South Wales, the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the Federal Court of Australia.
Her class action experience includes representing applicants in shareholder and financial services class actions, as well as acting for a respondent in a consumer law class action involving allegations of misleading or deceptive conduct concerning an animal health product.
Millie advises on contractual obligations, remedies for breach and compliance with legislation, including the Competition and Consumer Act (and the Australian Consumer Law) and the Corporations Act. She regularly provides strategic advice to domestic and international clients on litigation funding arrangements and the class action landscape in Australia.
Millie contributes to the LexisNexis Competition and Consumer Law News and, since 2018, has authored the Australian chapter of Lexology Panoramic – Litigation Funding.
