Belinda Spence is a Special Counsel in Piper Alderman’s Tax Advisory team, based in Melbourne.
With over a decade of experience, Belinda is a tax lawyer advising multinational corporations and privately owned groups on complex direct and indirect tax matters. She specialises in tax governance, tax due diligence, mergers and acquisitions and tax restructuring, supporting clients at all stages of the business lifecycle.
Belinda provides strategic, commercially focused advice to help clients navigate complex regulatory environments, manage tax risk and achieve effective outcomes aligned with their business objectives. She is known for her proactive and pragmatic approach, delivering tailored solutions that balance technical accuracy with commercial considerations.
Prior to joining Piper Alderman, Belinda held roles at EY and MYOB, where she gained experience across both professional services and in-house environments. This background enables her to provide practical, outcomes-focused advice informed by real-world business considerations.
Belinda holds a Juris Doctor from Bond University and is a Chartered Tax Adviser with The Tax Institute. She is also admitted as a lawyer by the Supreme Court of Victoria.
