Mike also serves as Deputy Chair of ARITA’s Professional Conduct Committee and Chair of the Finance, Governance and Risk Committee.
Commenting on his appointment, Mike said:
“These are exciting times for ARITA and a great opportunity to explore positive improvements particularly with the imminent appointment of a new CEO to ARITA,”
“During my tenure as ARITA National President, I’ll be focusing on advocacy and law reform, collaboration with stakeholders including AFSA and ASIC and furthering ARITA’s offering to smaller practices,”
“I’m grateful to be part of a firm like Piper Alderman that supports its partners in taking on leadership roles and contributing to the broader professional community.”
Speaking on Mikes appointment, Piper Alderman’s Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Team Leader and Partner Michael Lhuede, said:
“I speak for the entire Piper Alderman team when I say we are proud of Mike’s achievement and delighted that we have someone of Mike’s calibre assuming the most senior leadership position at Australia’s peak restructuring and insolvency industry body.”
As a Partner at Piper Alderman, Mike advises liquidators, receivers, and trustees on all aspects of personal and corporate insolvency and restructuring law. He also has a strong interest in governance, regularly advising directors on potential liability issues and assisting them in navigating companies through financial distress.
Mike also hosts the Piper Alderman Personal Insolvency Forum Series — one of the few forums in Australia dedicated to delivering specialised insights for professionals working in the personal insolvency sector.
Congratulations to Mike on his new position and his continued contributions to ARITA and the wider insolvency, restructuring and advisory community.
