Sale of Tasmanian family-owned transport company
Piper Alderman advised Peter and Erica O’Driscoll on the sale of their business, O’Driscoll Coaches Derwent Valley Link to Kinetic.
A family-owned company established in 2006, O’Driscoll Coaches operates 10 government contracted services including school bus and general access services and 33 buses across 3 depots between Hobart and the Derwent Valley.
Piper Alderman provided advice on all aspects of the sale, including due diligence, negotiations and drafting and negotiating the transaction documents. The transaction required obtaining DIER approval and was a share sale in structure. The sale of O’Driscoll Coaches continues to expand Kinetic’s large footprint in Tasmania.
Client feedback
The O’Driscoll family said:
“Maria (Capati) and her team at Piper Alderman helped conduct the transaction with great knowledge, dogged persistence, and most of all, compassion for us as her clients. They were able to liaise professionally and quickly with our financial accounting team and together they achieved the best possible result for our family, which seemed unlikely at the start of negotiations.
