Planet Software sells to QSR International
Piper Alderman assisted Planet Software with the structuring, negotiation and documentation of the sale of Planet Software, including by managing the cross-jurisdictional issues that arose as the result of the purchasing group being headquartered in the United States.
Piper Alderman acted for Planet Software, the dominant provider of global student placement management software, in the sale of its business to QSR International, the world’s leading qualitative data analytics software company and a subsidiary of US venture capital firm Rubicon Technology Partners. The sale represented the culmination of 20 years of development by Planet Software of “Sonia”, a student placement management software that assists placement staff, placement providers and students to view and manage information that relates to them and which is used in multiple countries over three continents, including a majority of the top ranked Australian universities within the “Group of Eight”.
