Kelvin is a Senior Associate in Piper Alderman’s Employment Relations team, advising government departments and Australian and international clients on a broad range of employment, industrial relations and workplace health and safety matters. He works with organisations across a variety of sectors, including construction and infrastructure, government, trade and transport, recruitment, local government, healthcare and large faith-based organisations.
Kelvin takes a practical and strategic approach to workplace issues, helping clients navigate legal and operational challenges with confidence. He understands the importance of balancing legal, commercial and organisational considerations, and provides tailored advice that is aligned with his clients’ objectives and risk appetite.
His experience spans a wide range of employment and workplace relations matters, including contract and policy drafting, day-to-day workplace management, disciplinary processes, workplace investigations, industrial disputes, unfair dismissal and general protections claims and workplace health and safety issues.
Drawing on his experience as a former Associate to an Industrial Commissioner at the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission and as a volunteer lawyer with Caxton Legal Centre, Kelvin brings a well-rounded perspective to his practice. These experiences have equipped him with the ability to identify and assess risk from multiple viewpoints, enabling him to deliver practical, commercially focused and strategically informed advice to his clients.
