Project portfolio diversification while avoiding re-compliance with Chapters 1 and 2 for ASX company
Piper Alderman assisted Santana Minerals Limited, an ASX-listed company, in acquiring its Bendigo-Ophir Project and simultaneous capitalization.
Santana Minerals is a precious metal explorer, focusing on different projects on precious metal exploration. In the second quarter of 2020, Santana was presented with a significant opportunity to acquire a highly prospective gold project to complement its existing portfolio of base and precious metals projects.
As with any public transaction, speed of execution was critical for Santana to secure the opportunity and seize on the current positive investor sentiment. In addition, this was necessary to secure the required working and development capital to advance the Project.
Having previously worked with Piper Alderman (on opposing sides) in similar transactions where certainty and speed were critical, Santana sought Piper Alderman’s assistance on the acquisition and ancillary capital raising.
Our experts, led by Josh Steele, successfully secured the Project, raised the necessary capital, and navigated the required shareholder and regulatory approvals in less than three months. In addition, Piper Alderman was well-placed to handle the Project because of our broad experience in capital markets and capital raising, corporate and commercial law, and mergers and acquisitions.
