Ben Motro is a highly experienced employment and industrial relations partner based in Sydney, who advises national and international employers across a broad range of workplace law issues. He works across the IT, retail, manufacturing, transport & logistics, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical sectors, providing commercially focused advice on all aspects of employment law, industrial relations, workplace health and safety (WHS) and complex employee management matters.
Ben has extensive experience drafting and advising on employment contracts, enterprise agreements, organisational restructures, deeds of release and workplace policies. He also assists clients in litigious matters, including acting for clients in unfair dismissal, general protections and discrimination, restraint of trade and confidential information / NDA disputes, and acts in matters before the Fair Work Commission, State and Federal courts, and various tribunals.
His practice also encompasses high risk and sensitive matters, including workplace investigations, bullying and harassment complaints, whistleblower issues, WHS investigations and regulatory compliance disputes. His litigation experience includes defending breach of contract claims, enforcing post‑employment restraints, and managing urgent injunctions relating to misuse of confidential information and employee poaching.
Ben provides ongoing advisory support to major clients across a range of industries, offering proactive workplace strategy, risk minimisation, and practical training for HR teams, senior executives and people managers.
