The complex multi-jurisdictional transaction involved Australian regulatory advice, securing approval from the Foreign Investment Review Board as well advice on the Australian aspects of the transaction, which took the form of both an asset and share sale transaction.

Piper Alderman worked with Syncsort’s lead legal counsel in the United States and legal advisers in other foreign jurisdictions to complete the transaction. The acquisition resulted in the creation of a powerhouse data management software company with more than 12,000 enterprise customers, US$600 million in revenue, and 2,000 employees worldwide, now known as Precisely.
