Piper Alderman attracts leading real estate partner in Sydney

Richard Abbott joins national law firm, Piper Alderman, as a real estate partner in Sydney this month.

With almost 30 years’ experience, Richard is a leader in the real estate sector with experience in the strategic planning, negotiation and delivery of major real estate projects, complex developments and syndicated investment structures. He specialises in high end, complex property transactions within the corporate transactional space.

Having serviced some of Australia’s biggest investment platforms and public sector bodies throughout his career, Richard has a detailed understanding of the Australian real estate sector and property investment risks and drivers. He also has significant experience acting for clients on projects ranging from the commercial, residential, hotel and hospitality sectors.

Richard boasts both Australian and international experience having practised at a specialist property firm in London and at national firms in Sydney for the last 20 years.

Richard joins the national real estate team in Sydney with partners Tony Britten-Jones and Margot King.  The national team led by Warren Denny now boasts nine partners across the firm.

Richard is a member of the Property Council of Australia and admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
